Maersk ready to take the number one spot, the largest container ship in the world

The CMA CGM Marco Polo is currently the largest container ship in the world however in July 2013 this title will be awarded to Maersk with the launch of the Triple E.

Maersk takes delivery of the first Triple E ship in July this year. This ship leads the pack in terms of size, carrying capacity, technology and energy efficiency.

The Triple E stands for:

- Economy of scale
- Energy efficiency
- Environmentally improved
